I’ve enjoyed slow stitching all week and only sat at the sewing machine once.
And that was just to stitch the seams for this little pillow. I enjoyed this little cross stitch and hope to make something larger next time.
I’m treating myself to easy stitching on this stamped sampler I found on eBay. It’s The 23rd Psalm. Recently, I was trying to recite Psalms 23 to myself and found that I no longer knew it very well.
I spent all last week “re” memorizing it, and thought this sampler will be a good reminder. How about you? Can you still quote it?
I’m still hand quilting in the evenings on the Noah quilt. I enjoy seeing the progress on the back side of the quilt. If you zoom in, you can see the Lion pretty well in this photo.
I’m heading into the kitchen to put this crockpot dish together for our lunch. My daddy eats with us on Sundays and lately, I’ve been looking for easier dishes, so that my Sunday mornings aren’t so rushed. I hope this will be yummy with oven fried onion rings.
Easy or prepare ahead recipes are welcome. Do you have a favorite?
Linking up with Kathy at Slow Sunday Stitching. It’s always fun to see what others are sewing too.
Sweet pillow. That recipe sounds yummy. Enjoy your day.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cheryl. I don’t know if you are aware that you are a no reply blogger, so I can’t respond to your comments by email. Have a great day!
DeleteYour little "Christmas Is Coming" is so very sweet...LOVE it! Psalm 23 is a favourite of mine, both to read, think upon and sing. =) How lovely you are recording it in lovely stitching. Enjoy your hand quilting and have the best time with your lovely dad.
ReplyDeleteSuch a delightful post I just found from you Penny! I hope you enjoy finding more crock pot meals.. Rick frequently sets up the crock pot with the next day's meal in the refrigerator to marinate whatever we are having over night then when I wake early I take it out and once coffee is served it is warmed to room temp on the outside and into the crock pot it goes... we do ribs, barbecue ... so many things thing way! I love your 23rd Psalm cross stitch.. I made my mom one years ago and still know my favorite version of the Psalm... I am listening intermittently to the Bible Recap podcast... you may like that .. if you wanna read the bible and study it together in a years time :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy Noahs ark and your cross stitch ... I found my stitchery from you and all my close buds agree.. it will find it's way to the wall to be enjoyed and talked about in this room too! Much Love to you Penny!

I love your little pillow! I also love the idea of stitching the 23rd Psalm, and what a great project to have on display for remembering it. I can't recite the whole thing, just parts.
ReplyDeleteYour food sounds delicious! Enjoy your Sunday with your Daddy!
Your pillow is very pretty. I can't say that I ever knew the 23rd Psalm by heart. I hope you enjoy stitching it. Have a good visit with your Dad.
ReplyDeleteOh, I love how the little pillow turned out. I like your new project too. I remember the first of the 23 Psalms but would need to work on the second half. I hope you have a good Sunday.
ReplyDeleteOh, Belinda, I became all nervous when I couldn’t get it straight in my head. Lol I started thinking about buying Prevagen. 😉
DeleteLovely stitching and pillow.
ReplyDeleteI like the little Christmas tree charm that you have sewn onto your embroidery. It looks good.
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Christmas Pillow. Your recipe sounds
really yummy. Have a great day!
I love crock pot cooking, how nice that your Dad joins you regularly for a meal, cozy family time together.
ReplyDeleteThat is a sweet little pillow you stitched! I used to have a lot more things memorized than I can remember anymore - I like the idea of stitching something like the 23rd Psalm back into memory. Yummy dinner - thanks for sharing the recipe!
ReplyDeleteone of the easiest crockpot recipes I have is a beef or pork roast - for beef I put the roast in pot with a chopped onion, some garlic, salt and pepper and add one can of golden mushroom soup - put the lid on and cook on low all day - for pork I add plain mushroom soup or mushroom soup with garlic
ReplyDeleteLove the stitching. Croc pots make cooking a lot easier, when we need to do other stuff and give us more time with loved ones.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little pillow and great start on your sampler. I have never had oven fried onion rings. They sound yummy . Happy stitching
ReplyDeleteOh, it was just a bag of frozen Nathan’s onion rings.... cooked in the oven. ☺️
Deletelovely hand work

I love the pillow and the 23 Psalm is my favorite. The recipe sounds good. I've got to try it!
ReplyDeleteWhat great projects! Variety is the spice of life, you know. We're so lucky to have so many hobbies to choose from, depending on our mood. And no, I can't recite the 23rd Psalm.
ReplyDeleteI love the wreath! You freshened it up really well. I have a couple of wreaths my sister made for my mother many years ago. They were out of date and dusty too. I replaced a few flowers and the bows. I added a few things on a Christmas one. I now use them all the time. Love your crocheted chicken. Bet you could find the instructions on you tube! You are doing so good with your hand stitching and love your Easter display!
