I climbed into my HOT attic today and didn't spend a whole lot of time up there. But, I did find a few treasures I need to share. I plan to share these with you over the next few days.
First, is this completed quilt top that I pieced together years ago... probably 20 years ago. (?) I remember machine appliquing these little hearts that I cut out from the scrap bag of my grandmother, who had recently passed away. The pink gingham fabric was from her stash, too... but I'm not sure about the pink borders. I'm not sure why I never finished it, but wouldn't it be sweet to finish for my first granddaughter? It would be from her great great grandmother's fabric stash. ** PS... this was made before I even knew what a rotary cutter was; each square cut by hand. **
And I know that everyone doesn't love dogs like we do, but I couldn't resist showing you how much the doggy babies love the quilt top. :o) I know mom.... you are shaking your head right now.
Stay tuned... as I have a LOT to show you!
Yes, I was. Sorry I can't help it!!
ReplyDeleteI don't even know if you had shown this to me before. I know that you did the quilt with the bonnet girls and that you did/were going to put a Bible verse in each block. And way back you talked of making Holly and Jessica one. I can't wait to see what else you've found up in that hot attic.
I think I remember making this one for Holly... LOL. And I did finish the yellow one with the Sunbonnet girls and Bible verses. I've blogged about it somewhere. I'll have to try and find it.
ReplyDeleteYou did find a treasure up there. You be careful not to get too hot! The dogs know a treasure when they see one too!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is lovely (but between you and me - the dogs make it even better!!!).
ReplyDeleteIt would be really nice for your granddaughter!!
ReplyDeleteYou are finding some nice "treasures" up in your attic! Looks like your dog "babies" have claimed this quilt top. Now you will have to finish it for them!
ReplyDeleteOur dog "babies" have their very own "blankies" and "pillows." LOL Enjoying your blog! Love ya!
I think that is a beautiful idea and the quilt is so pretty. Love the dogs, they always have to be right in our business!
