This is one of my favorite things about spring time and warm weather.... getting to use the clothesline! Most of the pollen has settled, so yesterday I gave my clothesline a good cleaning and hung out bed linens! Those sheets smelled so yummy last night and I slept so GOOD! If you will enlarge the picture, you will see my beautiful clothespin bag, made by Debbie at Homemaking Dreams. She makes these and sells them in her Etsy shop. I have really enjoyed mine and it looks so pretty hanging on the line. (My daughter was here yesterday when I was hanging out the sheets, and I realized that we are the only house in the neighborhood with a clothesline. I mentioned it to her and wondered if my neighbors are jealous. LOL)
I love to see clothes hanging on a line! Thanks for the Etsy Shop plug, I appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteWe have a clothesline at the new house. the lines are a little saggy, but dh can tighten them. I should start using it now that the pollen is better, too.
Thanks Penny!
You can have it. I was so happy when I finally got a clothes dryer. I have hung diapers outside in cold weather when I thought my hands would freeze. And the clothes would be so stiff if there was no wind blowing. Not to mention the "do overs" if the dogs or birds got to your clothes. I will admit I like the smell of fresh air dried clothes, but not enough to give up my dryer. Ha ha
ReplyDeleteDebbie made me a clothespin bag, too! It's a Mary Englebreit print and I love it. I just love this time of year, when you can use the clothesline. It is so restful, it smells good, saves money...and my 2 cats and dog love to keep me company when I do it. (The dog is a chihuahua...he can't reach the wash to, uh...'cause trouble'.)
ReplyDeleteI had this great idea to hang some things today, so I did a 'light' wash--meaning things that will dry quickly because it's still a little chilly. Alas, the sun went behind the clouds before the wash was done. Oh, well, there will be more sunny days!
HI PEN,
ReplyDeleteYep, Gotta love a clothsline. Yours makes me want to go hang something up. Well pretty soon I can use mine. Your little bag is really cute. I have one made out of my first grand daughters sun dress.
Looks like you have had a lot of family things going on, thats always nice!

Hi Pen.. I am so jealous.. I can't wait to hang my bedding & linens outside to dry, but as you can see from my blog entry today..It may be awhile yet..
ReplyDeleteNothing nicer than sunshine dried clothes!
Cheryl
Yes, I am totally jealous! I want a clothes line sooo bad! (I can just hear the voices of the women before us saying "I want an electric dryer sooo bad!")
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pin bag :-)
Oh how I wish I could still hang out clothes. I used to love the smell of fresh sheets and towels but my allergies just will not tolerate that.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the pollen to die down so we can hang our laundry up. There's nothing as lovely as laying on sheets that smell so sweet and fresh from being hung outside. The clothespin bag is so cute!

Oh, I LOVE sleeping on fresh, cool, clotheline dried sheets!!!

Hi, again. Thanks for stopping by. Your profile picture of the 'hot dog' is adorable! Our dogs may be rotten (as in spoiled) but we love them and their funny ways, don't we?
ReplyDeleteI love clothes hung on my line, especially sheets! Only thing, since I saw that bear last summer and since my line is back by the woods I get a little freaked sometimes.
