Spring!

We've had some beautiful weather in NC this past week, making me really long for spring time! When I came in from work yesterday, I noticed these little blooms near my front door! Yay! Spring is on its way! I found some pictures on my camera this morning (internal memory) of my home and yard when spring is in full bloom. I can't figure how to get them off to share them with you. But, when I saw them, I was a little sad to think that I will soon be leaving my home here. I know there are other homes out there and I know we will find one we love, but I really do like my current home. It's been my favorite of all the houses we've owned before. I have to keep thinking that God is in control and he has more blessings for us just down the road. Hubby has been gone all week because of his new position and I have truly been lonesome with just me and the dogs. I had thought I could stay here a few more months without him being here, but I am having second thoughts now. So many things to do, so many things to think about.... yes, I'm feeling a little stressed!

  1. I'm welcoming spring with open arms! It's my favorite time of year and can you believe the wedding is in 13 weeks?! We too are about to move and I'm nothing less than ecstatic! I was looking forward to our little home being half way to your house :( I know that it will be fine, we will come visit, and we'll blog tons (like you do with your momma). I'll miss you and POP (haha, don't tell Will) being so close. We'll have to take mini weekend vacations to your house :)

  2. Try not to stress (from someone who is stressing all the time).. It will work out...I think your flower is a hyacinth (sp?) And it is pretty!

That is one of my favorite houses you lived in too... loved that yard !! But I liked the old house in R*ville.. It was so interesting and in the movie "NeLL" and that yard was wonderful also even though I couldn't walk straight.... And that other house in R*ville was so nice... Gosh Penny you have lived in some wonderful places.. and that house in B*son so close to the train tracks and the tourist section...but my favorite of all was the house in V*boro.. you lived close...LOL

  3. We're probably a good 5 weeks from Hyacinths here on Long Island...but I'll enjoy your photo in the meantime. I love the smell of them and I can't wait to see them popping up!
I'm sorry to hear you have to leave a home you love so much, but you are right to know that there will be another home you love.
As far as the camera...do you have the pictures on a memory card? There might be a 'slot' on your computer where you plug the card in. A box will pop up on the screen and ask if you want to transfer the pictures. You just name a file for them and say 'yes' and the photos will be transferred. Mine go into a 'Pictures' file that can be found on the 'Start' menu.
Good luck with both your picture taking and your home-finding. And congrats to your husband on his new position...best of luck!

  5. Penny, just think of the wonderful blessings and adventures God has in store for you in your new surroundings. Leaving what you love is never easy, but it does sound like you've got experience in moving!

  7. That's a pretty flower Penny! I know you are feeling torn. You can always change your mind about waiting to go with your husband. You can help with the wedding from a distance! Everything will work out!

  8. Hmmmm.... spring...(sounding a little like Homer Simpson and his doughnuts...) We are still a ways away from spring here in the shadow of the Wasatch mountains, however, today on our walk I heard birs singing! Can't be far behind now!
I am excited to see what you do with your next home - I know you'll love it and just as we finish books we love then go on to another, you'll miss this one, but once you "get into" the other one, you'll love that too. Home is what YOU make it!

I'm sorry you're missing hubby - cyber hugs to scare away the lonliness for you!

  9. Can spring get here any sooner? Your flowers are so lovely. Relax and look at your flowers. Your next home will have even lovelier ones and best of all you will be so much closer to your mom. Rocky Mount is nothing but a hop, skip and jump...

  10. Nothing beats a Carolina Spring! I am so looking forward to it, and this past weekend was just a teaser! I know how you feel having to move just when you are getting settled. I hope you find a home you love even more than this one! :)
