Spooky Pictures

Okay, really, are these pictures spooky? I bought these at an antique shop a couple years ago because I loved them. They are supposed to be a sea captain and his wife. My kids think they are spooky, as they have eyes that seem to follow you around the room. I just put them out during October because they seem to "fit" the season. What do you think?

Wedding News

My daughter is officially engaged! Her boyfriend proposed to her this weekend and she said YES. The wedding is at least a year away, but we know nothing about planning weddings. For those of you who have been through this, as the mother of the bride, I'm open for ANY advice. Like I said, we know nothing (I didn't have a church wedding).
More good news.... since she is officially engaged, I shall really start planning how I will decorate my new sewing room! hee hee

More quilt show

This is another quilt that caught my eye from the quilt show. It reminded me so much of the one I am working on below. Wouldn't any little girl (or big girl) love to own this?

Quilt show... Fun Quilt

This was another wallhanging from the Quilt Show we attended last month. I thought this fun quilt was absolutely adorable and a great way to use buttons, collectable pins, etc. Wouldn't this be great hanging in a sewing area? I promise I'll show some of my own work soon!

Quilt Show

My husband and I recently attended a quilt show in Raleigh and I'm posting one of my favorite quilts. I don't remember the story that went along with it, but I think this quilt represented someone's grandparents and their legacy. When I attend quilt shows, I realize how "inadequate" I feel as a quilter, but we all have to start somewhere! I have always loved quilts, even as a young girl, and have always admired anyone who makes them.
I dream of being this talented in my quilt making one day!

The completed project

This is a picture of the completed quilt made by the website owner. I can hardly wait to finish mine!

My quilting project

In keeping up with Nancy Jo, I'm hoping to start publishing a few of my favorite things for you to see. Below is a picture of the first dress I embroidered in this series of 50's style dresses. I have seven of them completed, leaving me five more to do. These patterns were free from a website titled "Bobby Socks Quilt Company." The owner offers a free pattern every month.

Our little Butterbean

Here is a picture of the little guy that we call "Butterbean." He has certainly brought a lot of life and JOY to our home the past few weeks. He is a handful, but so far, very worthwhile!
