I'm not a scrooge after all!

Okay, guys! I'm not going to be a scrooge after all. On my way in from church today, I snatched the scarecrow arrangement off the front door. I'm making progress! ha ! Actually, I bought two pre-lit trees that I will use on my fireplace hearth. I got these yesterday while on our three hour trip for my daughter's wedding shower. I hope to get these put up tonight and maybe I'll have pictures to share by later in the week. The wedding shower was wonderful. Daughter and her fiancee' received some great gifts. I think we all need to throw ourselves a shower every 10 years or so. Wouldn't it be fun to have all that new stuff again.... everything new at once? Of course, I have a lot of very well loved things that I could never replace. They may not be as pretty as hers are right now, but I wouldn't trade some of my worn cooking things for the world. The gifts were great, but better than that, was seeing family and friends that we have not seen in a very long time. It was almost like a big family reunion. My sis in law did a great job and was able to create another wonderful memory for us all!

Nope, you're not scrooge yet..LOL.. My across the road neighbor asked if I was putting up a tree and I said no... he said me neither... then showed me the little decorated tree he already has sitting on his hearth... Then he asked if I was going to put up outside lights and I said no...he said me neither... but he's getting close... candles in the windows... He says people are going to think the Grinch really stole Christmas at our houses this year... so far I'm sticking to my plan, but he seems to be caving...LOL

The shower was wonderful!! I really enjoyed it.

Your older brother told me you stopped there for a minute.

I want to see your decorations as soon as you get them done.. so take lots of pictures.

I can totally identify with you on this post. The shower sounds like so much fun and so nice. I know you and April are so excited.

I haven't taken down a single fall decoration yet!!! I'm ready to get started on the Christmas decorations now that its December though!

I agree that wouldn't it be wonderful to have a shower every ten years or so and get all new, but like you, there are so many memories in the old things and I do mean old.LOL
