One of my favorite things

Here's a "random" new post to show you one of my favorite things. Everyone probably has one by now, but my mom and I spent a day together, two years ago, making our "bowling ball" gazing balls. We worked very hard one afternoon to glue our little clear pebbles all over the ball. Not knowing we had used the wrong type of glue, we both looked outside the next day to find practically naked bowling balls, with a puddle of colorful pebbles on the ground beneath them. Even though the pebble puddles were pretty, we quickly found the correct glue and reglued them. Most of the pebbles have hung on for quite sometime now. Even though the ball has been around for awhile, it is still one of my favorite things!

  1. Good job pen pen, I like that bowling ball idea, I have never seen that. The glass garden ball cost a lot and knowing my wild life around here and the grandkids I can't see a glass one lasting to long. Now a bowling ball, well that would have staying power.

  2. I've never seen that either but what a great idea! Seems even better since you and your Mom did it together! Happy Mother's Day! Claudia O.

  3. Yes on the Sweet William. Just bits and pieces of it. I need to clean up my beds and get it going again!! I looked for those hydrandea bushes yesterday. I told your grandmother I couldn't see any. She says the boys keep them cut off with the weedeaters since she saw the snake in the corners. But she pointed out a tiny bit of one trying to make an appearance. I need to go rescue it! Oh yeah, love the bowling ball!!
