It was a Merry Christmas, but it came and went so soon!

Little Penpen and the grandchildren

I've heard others say this and it's true for me, too: I enjoy the week after Christmas the most. There is nowhere to go, the presents are all opened, and the stress is gone. I can enjoy my Christmas tree lights, reflect on the season, reflect on the birth of Jesus, find the calm that I wish was there during the hectic part of the season.

I'm looking forward to a new year. The longer I am 'retired' from nursing , the more I find that I enjoy being retired. I'm hoping for a very productive year!
You have such gorgeous grandchildren!!! I too like the calm of this week - especially when my boys go back to work, lol, and it's nice and quiet. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot of you and the little ones!
ReplyDeleteStill have a family party to host tomorrow and then I hope to relax! :)

ReplyDeleteBlessings to you! May this year be sweet. The days following Christmas are really wonderful as it is as if I can catch my breathe. Quieter than the before Christmas day. You're Grands are so sweet. All the best,

Love those sweet grandkids of yours! happy and blessed new year!
ReplyDeleteOne year, I made my grand-daughter a bride out-fit for her Halloween costume. I took her to a mall for Trick or Treat festivities and she was quite a hit wearing it. She was probably four at the time.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you with all the kiddos! They are precious. It looks like everyone had a 'grand' time.
ReplyDeleteLove your photos!!!!
ReplyDeleteI join you in your love of this week...

My favorite week of the year.

I am with you, I am enjoying the relaxing moments that have followed a busy Christmas season. I read my devotional today, and did my prayer journal, and just thought about my family and the blessings in my life. I hope that you have a happy New Year! Hugs. Juli
