Snake Plant

Believe it or not, this is the first snake plant I've ever owned. This plant was part of an arrangement that someone gave to me as a going away gift when I left work a few months ago. It has been in a dark room with very little water or attention since that time. Since it was determined to live anyway, I decided to repot it and give it a new chance at living. Why have I never owned a snake plant before? I don't know... my mom has plenty of them. Did you know that another name for the snake plant is "Mother in Law Tongue"? That's funny! I hope I haven't jinxed this little plant, now that I've decided to give it a little attention. Time will tell!

  1. I never knew the other name was mother-in-law's tongue. What a funny, yet appropriate name for that plant. As I approach my new moniker as mother-in-law, let that plant be a reminder to me!

  2. You can't kill them... mine get so withered sometimes I'm sure they are dead... just water them... they will come back to life and reward you with many, many, more little shoots... Mine are some I got from my grandmother years ago!

  5. pen pen,
Those are pretty tough plants. I don't know why you never had one, maybe because you were going to leave it in a dark room to die? HA.
How is work going? I see from your one post that the girls are a bit on the highschool side of growing up. I don't understand it either. Bring your new plant and come up here and we will just go to the thrift store maybe you can forget the whole thing for a while.
