I've shown you some of these blocks in the past. These are swap blocks that I received during the 1990's, while swapping with others through classified ads in "Quilt" magazine. I've held on to these blocks for all these years, thinking that 'one day' I would make them into a quilt. I don't think that 'one day' will ever come, so if you are interested in becoming the new owner of these blocks, to do with them whatever your little heart desires, leave a comment and I will pick a winner on Wednesday, Oct. 26. (note: most of these blocks have the maker's signature on them)
I would love to have those! I think I'd probably make a charity quilt or two with them. How fun.
ReplyDeleteI would likely do the same, as our Guild's charity this year is Terra Association, a school for unwed teen parents. They are looking for both baby and twin size quilts. And, to top it off, Oct 26 is my birthday, and that would make an awesome birthday present.

I do not want to give all my stuffwhen I am gone, I want to see others enjoy things! :)
So, I know of a sweet family that could use a quilt, out of "love" & I would use the other ones to keep as a sweet memory of the
"give-away"!

ReplyDeleteIf they were mine, I think I would make a couple little kid's quilts for the children at the Center for Domestic Violence. Often little kids come there with nothing to call their own. One year I found some tiny kid size quilts - lap robes, actually, and took them to the center with a load of Teddy Bears. The kids took the quilts with them when they were settled into new quarters. One little guy took his with him thru a whole series of foster homes, and kept it with him when he was adopted.
Funny what takes special meaning for a child.

how special all these blocks are
so....I thought if I could win them for her she could make a lovely quilt or two! I help do lil-things with her:)
I know it would be a blessing to her! :) She as well has many girls that are all learning to quilt! :)
They all could work on this as a project.

ReplyDeleteWhen you know you can't use blocks, it is good to send them to someone who can. I am glad to see so many people waiting to be picked. They will make a very pretty sampler quilt and keep someone warm this winter.
