Christmas goodies

This Santa mug filled with candy canes is a "classic" Christmas decoration for me. I have always wanted one and found this one at Wal Mart last year. I used it on my desk at work and our employees loved it. I no longer have the desk (yay!) so I am using it in the kitchen this year. My children are enjoying it now. Our church is putting together gift baskets for the widow ladies in our church. (men too) Each lady was asked to bring items to help fill the baskets. I made chocolate covered pretzels and have them packaged up in little bags like the one below.
I also bought clear glass votive holders and put an apple scented votive in each one. Each bag also has two extra votive candles wrapped in tissue paper. Very little $ spent, but will help add to the basket fun!

  1. A great idea for the baskets. I'm sure that they will all enjoy getting them. It's sad to think how many people are alone at Christmas.

    I love the Santa mug!

  2. Hi! I'm Kristi, from Thimble Thoughts. I like your ideas for Christmas goodies. And my mother in law has her santa mug of candy canes out every year. I don't know what my kids would think if she didn't put it out one year. LOL

  6. hI pen,
I have a santa mug that I have had since I was a little girl, well I'm still little, just older. My Aunt made it for me in a ceramic class. She also made the deer and sleigh on my fireplace. I have seen the santa mugs in the thrift store. Who gives away their Santa Mug? People are just not thinking.
