Baby Kinley Quilt

My niece had a baby girl a couple months ago and Aunt Penpen finished up her baby quilt last night.

I finished it up just in time to watch little Kinley for a couple hours today while her mommy went for a doctor's appointment.

Can you tell she just loves her new quilt???  :-)

I hope she has many years of love and comfort from this little quilt.

If you think you've seen this quilt before, you're not going crazy.  It is a lot like my granddaughter, Annabelle's baby quilt.

This is the back of Kinley's quilt:  made with vintage 1980's little girl fabric.

A close up of the backing fabric.  I hope she doesn't find it too creepy... I just adore all the little girls.

I did not place a label on the back of the quilt, but  may add one later.  I found it so 'freeing' not to worry about a label.  I think I'm going to order some premade labels to attach to most of my quilts, making it easier to move on to the next project.

Great Aunt Penny really enjoyed making this little quilt and just loved watching her and her big brother for a little while today.

  1. Penny, that is a darling baby and a Great Baby Quilt you made... I personally LOVE the backing.. don't find it creepy at all!!! lol
As for labels I buy mine from someone on Etsy.. if you are interested in my cotton twill printed labels I can get you the link to the Etsy shop and you can design your own for an affordable price :) Then just add the year to the label and maybe your initials too! All my quilts just about get one of these labels in the binding process... then no worries!
Glad you got some visiting time with Kinley and her brother :)

  2. Penny, I love the quilt! Its so sweet and the little girl on it is too. I agree that sometimes I just don't want to make a label....

I am planning on making 3 baby boy quilts, but its not happening too fast. You have inspired me to get busy.

Love the pictures of the quilt too.

You did good, as usual! :o)

  4. Such a pretty quilt--I love all the colors! I have been going through my fabric lately, thinking about making another quilt. Maybe this winter would be a good time for a small project. Your little great-niece is adorable!

  6. Oh, my mercy, what talent you possess! That quilt is gorgeous...but so is Miss Kinley. You're such a great Aunt. I make rag quilts for our nieces and nephews (great ones, actually....nieces and nephews, not the quilts...LOL)...but nothing as time-consuming or elaborate as yours.

  9. Hi Pen Pen.
So I was waiting for you to put up another post, but that wasn't to be.
I meant to ask you, are you all settled now? I remember when I had my old blog that you were moving every few minutes. Well moving can be fun, you get a new house to play with.
Nice here today, not as hot, I guess I'm ready for the cooler weather I'm running out of clothes for hot weather.
Glad to see you pop in over at my new blog.
