Rolling Pins

So, how do collections "evolve"? I never started out to collect rolling pins, it just .... happened. I found this little wine rack at a thrift store this weekend and thought it would be perfect for phase one of the collection. :o) Below is another view of the rolling pins. I think I like them. :o)
What do you collect?

  1. Penny, I love that. A great use for the wine rack. I have a wine rack that has old empty wine bottles in it. Never thought about putting rolling pins in it. I have a couple on hand that would work. Hey, also easy to get to if you need to grab one to roll out some bread dough or something. :o) The thought entered my head that they would be handy if we needed to hit somebody with one, but of course, we would never do that anyway! Especially since we are nice Southern Belles! LOL

  4. I love that idea. I collect rolling pins and have been looking for a way to display them. Now I'll probably never find a wine rack that I like at the thrift store.

I found your blog through Homemaking Dreams.

  5. They look great in that winerack! A very clever idea, Penny!

I seem to be collecting old, blue canning jars. Like you, I didn't start out to, but when they're there, at the flea market or thrift store--I just gotta buy them!

  6. Firstly, what an incredibly cool wine rack, and how imaginative to put your rolling pins in it. I collect cat things I guess, little statues, pictures, etc. but I don't have a lot of them displayed, silly me. Why collect if you don't display right?

Great blog, I found you by way of the Chocolate Cat's blog.

  9. I have not really been into collecting . . . I do like "out of the ordinary things" for my house. I love glass, art and sign art.
    Thank you for sharing today.
    Blessings,

  10. Hi PEN,
Good idea, gotta love a thrift store. I have several rolling pins, my favorite is my Great Grandma's dated 1889. Hard to stop a collection, I'm working on NOT getting anymore buttons. Hard to resist.

  11. I love your rolling pins! I also collect rolling pins. My son made me two and they are beautiful. I have one my mother gave me that is really really old and looks like it was hand chiseled. And one my aunt gave me last year, it has a red handle and she had it since she was first married in the late 40s. She just recently passed away and I will always treasure that rolling pin. I collect too many things, I wouldn't know where to start.
