Christmas Decorating

Okay, we brought the tree down from the attic last night. I have not had my tree down and decorated since we added the dogs to our family. To those who don't already know, dachshunds are very destructive. No sooner than I had put the tree skirt on the floor, they started sniffing and chewing on the buttons. The skirt came right back up.... will not go back down unless I'm here and expecting "company"... LOL There will be no ornaments near the bottom of the tree this year. My dear daughter, to which these dear dogs really belong, has her home all decorated.... very pretty with nothing interferring with all the pretties! I'll keep you posted....

  1. Poor babies~they just want to help, LOL! I had a dachshund for 13years and he never bothered the tree. Maybe they will get bored with it.

My cats are a different story than the dachshund I had. All those little things just look too good not to bat around. I'm not sure how it will go this year~I have a kitten in the house that's never seen a Christmas tree.

  2. I too haven't had the tree with my puppy Skye. So far she hasn't paid any attention but once I start putting up the ornaments I just don't know. I have allot of plush too so I may have to bring them up off the floor this year our they will get skinned for sure!

  3. Your dachshunds are so pretty and shiny. Ours had a lot of bad habits, but she never bothered our tree.

  5. Take the dogs for a visit to your daughter's house to see if they like her tree! LOL. We had a cat about 30 years ago that climbed the tree. Our dog that died last year didn't bother the tree. I would hang a small wind chime ornament at the bottom so when he walked by it it was tinkle.

  6. Planning to get our tree up this week but wondering how much trouble Peter (our little cat who turns 1 tomorrow) will get into with it. We didn't have him last Christmas so it could all be very exciting for him!!

  7. I love the little weiner dogs. I used to have a long haired red one. She lived 15 years and chewed everything in sight til the day she died, but I loved her anyway.
