Where were you?

Where were you and what were you doing when the 9-11 terror struck? I'm sure none of us will ever forget that day. I was sitting at my desk at work, when my friend, Mike, who sat next to me, received the phone call. His daughter called to tell him what was happening on the news. He reported it to us and shortly thereafter reported the second attack. Not having a television in the office, we drove up to a nearby patient's home and watched the news with the patient and his sitter. May God continue to bless our nation and all those whose lives were changed that day. Where were you that day?

  1. I was in the other room, but hearing the tv going in the front room... I remember thinking, why are they bringing up the World Trade Center bombing again.. Then I got up to go into the room with the TV. I saw the plane hit the first tower. Katie Couric was telling about it and they were showing it again... Then suddenly they realized there was another plane and it hit the other tower... Immediately I knew this was serious!! I jumped to the phone to call my mom and ask if she were watching... then I headed out to the shop to tell my husband to turn on the TV out there... I knew we were going to WAR... Then the plane was over Washington D.C. and there were reports of another plane that went down in Pennsylvania... I took my American Flag and went straight to my front porch and hung it out... The rest of the day I was on the phone in front of the TV until I had to go to school to pick up some of the grandchildren. As I waited, I wondered if they had been told. Everyone came out somber looking. I asked if they had told them. They said just before they left school for the day, they had been told. Next day every where you looked American flags were flying. People had them on their cars. The ones who didn't have flags had red, white, and blue ribbons on their cars. America was United again... We must never Forget those who died and those who saved so many. We must not FORGET !!!

  2. I was at work. I had just gotten there. There is a radio in the waiting room and we heard somethig was going on. We have a tv in one of the boss's offices, so we turned it on and watched. I called my daughter who was in College at UNCW at the time and woke her up. She started crying. A very scarey and sad day for us all. I remember going to the ATM to get some cash and filling up the van with gas, just in case the whole country was attacked. Thanks to the Lord that didn't happen.... yet.
